WCLLP OR Project

For this project you will be showing your understanding of figurative language through the creation of poetry.  This poetry will then be presented in some way to show your understanding of the plot and theme of your novel.

Part I:  Poetry Creation
  • You will write five poems for this section:
    • Plot
    • Character
    • Setting
    • Theme
    • Choice
  • Each poem will contain at least two figurative language elements, appropriately highlighted and labeled.
  • Each poem should be at least 10 lines long and show appropriate attention to organization and structure.

Part II:  Presentation
  • The poems should be displayed in some way either three dimensionally, or on a poster.
  • Some visual element should be used to express the major elements in each poem.  For example, images and/or words should be added to show the character described in the poem, or the setting, or the theme.
  • There should be appropriate attention to craft in the creation of the project.  Use glue, not tape.  Cut with scissors, don’t tear.  Type or handwrite neatly, don’t scribble.
  • Compensation will be given to creativity.  The minimum requirement is a poster no bigger than your desk, but feel free to be creative in how you present your poems.  Remember the message in a bottle example.

Grading

To earn an ‘A’, projects should show excellent attention to each of the guidelines above.
